United Arab Bank (UAB) has announced the successful issuance of its UAB Jaywan Prepaid Card, developed in collaboration with Network International, IDEMIA Secure Transactions, and Al Etihad Payments (AEP), a subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) and the official operator of Jaywan, the UAE’s national card scheme.

This milestone reinforces UAB’s dedication to financial inclusion and digital innovation, aligning with the UAE’s Cashless Economy and Payments Transformation Agenda.

The launch event was attended by top leaders from UAB, including Shirish Bhide, Chief Executive Officer; Emre Yalcin, Head of Retail Banking; and Dr. Abdulla Altaee, Chief Operating Officer. Murat Cagri Suzer, Group CEO of Network International, was also present, underlining the importance of this collaboration between leading financial and payments technology institutions.

The UAB Jaywan Prepaid Card marks a significant step in supporting the UAE’s vision to localize and strengthen its payments infrastructure. Managed by AEP, the Jaywan scheme aims to reduce reliance on international systems while promoting secure, cost-efficient, and accessible financial services across the Emirates.

For UAB, the initiative highlights a strategic move to enhance its digital payment offerings and improve customer experience. The prepaid card offers secure and flexible payment options for individuals and families, enabling easier everyday purchases, budgeting, and financial management.

By working with Network International, IDEMIA, and AEP, UAB is helping drive innovation in the payments landscape, leveraging advanced technology and regulatory oversight to create an inclusive, efficient, and secure national payment platform.
