Design software company Figma has announced the acquisition of Weavy, an AI-powered image and video generation startup. The company revealed that Weavy’s team of 20 will join Figma under a new brand, Figma Weave, marking a major step in integrating artificial intelligence into its creative ecosystem.
Founded in 2024 and based in Tel Aviv, Weavy raised $4 million in seed funding in June, led by Entrée Capital, with participation from Designer Fund, Founder Collective, and Fiverr founder Micha Kaufman. While Figma did not disclose the deal’s valuation, it confirmed that Weavy will continue operating as a stand-alone product before being fully integrated into the broader Figma platform.
Weavy’s AI tools enable users to blend multiple generative models, offering powerful editing features for crafting high-quality images and videos used in product mockups or brand designs. Users can refine outputs through layer adjustments, color and lighting edits, and prompt-based modifications, giving them granular control over creative results.
The platform supports several AI models, Seedance, Sora, and Veo for video, and Flux, Ideogram, Nano Banana, and Seedream for image generation. This flexibility allows designers to experiment across models, compare results, and merge elements seamlessly on an infinite canvas.
According to Figma CEO Dylan Field, the acquisition brings a “new level of craft and control to AI generation.” He added, “The Weavy team has inspired us with the balance they’ve struck between simplicity, approachability, and power. They’ve also created a tool that’s just a joy to use.”
The move underscores a growing trend among design and AI platforms to enhance creative workflows with generative tools. Earlier this month, Perplexity acquired the team behind Visual Electric, while Krea secured $83 million from investors including Bain Capital and a16z to advance its AI design capabilities.

With Figma Weave, Figma aims to redefine how designers blend creativity with artificial intelligence, empowering users to explore, remix, and refine their work in entirely new ways.
