Spotify has raised the price of its individual subscription plan in the United States, increasing the monthly fee from $11.99 to $12.99. The new price will take effect from users’ next billing cycle, according to an email sent to paid subscribers.
In a blog post, the company said the price update reflects the value it delivers to users and helps it continue improving the platform while supporting artists. “Occasional updates to pricing across our markets reflect the value that Spotify delivers,” the company stated.
The move follows a Financial Times report from November 2025, which revealed that Spotify was planning another U.S. price hike in early 2026. Analysts at JPMorgan estimated the increase could add as much as $500 million to the company’s annual revenue.

Spotify has also implemented similar price hikes in other markets, including the UK and Switzerland, and confirmed that prices are rising in Estonia and Latvia as well.
As of its Q3 2025 results, Spotify reported over 281 million paid subscribers worldwide, with roughly 25% based in North America.
