Meta has revealed that Facebook Dating now boasts 21.5 million daily active users (DAUs) across 52 countries, the first time the company has shared official metrics for the feature since its 2019 launch.

Despite its low visibility in online dating conversations, the numbers show that people are indeed finding matches on the platform. Facebook Dating is integrated directly within the main Facebook app, rather than being a standalone service. It even sits prominently in the app’s navigation bar, visible to all users regardless of relationship status.

Interestingly, the service is seeing traction among younger users. In the U.S. alone, 1.77 million users are between 18 and 29, putting Facebook Dating closer to competitors like Bumble and Grindr, though still behind Tinder and Hinge. Meta reported that daily conversations on the platform in this age group rose 24% year-over-year.

Part of the appeal lies in its completely free model. Unlike Hinge or Bumble, Facebook Dating doesn’t charge users to access premium features or match with “most desirable” profiles. Meta’s revenue strategy remains centered on its broader advertising ecosystem, which means users get a simpler, ad-free dating experience without hidden costs.
