Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the company remains open to acquisitions and partnerships as it advances its artificial intelligence roadmap.

Speaking during Apple’s Q4 2025 earnings call, Cook said the next-generation, AI-powered Siri is still on track for launch in 2026. “We’re making good progress on it, and as we’ve shared, we expect to release it next year,” he noted.

When asked if Apple was still pursuing a three-part strategy, developing in-house foundation models, working with external LLM providers, and making targeted acquisitions, Cook confirmed the company remains open to all three. “We continually survey the market on M&A and are open to pursuing it if it advances our roadmap,” he said.

In a pre-earnings interview with CNBC, Cook added that Apple plans to announce more AI partnerships similar to its collaboration with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT into Siri and Apple Intelligence. “Our intention is to integrate with more people over time,” he said.

Cook also discussed Apple’s Private Cloud Compute system, which supports private AI processing, revealing that the company has begun manufacturing servers for Apple Intelligence in Houston to expand its data center infrastructure.

He further emphasized that AI is influencing customers’ smartphone purchase decisions. “Apple Intelligence is a factor, and we’re very bullish on it becoming a greater factor,” Cook said.
