Datadog has launched Updog, a new web dashboard that allows users to monitor the real-time status of top cloud and SaaS providers, including AWS, Cloudflare, Slack, and OpenAI.

The tool, which plays on the long-running “What’s up, dog?” joke, provides free access for anyone to see if major online services are functioning properly. Unlike Datadog’s premium monitoring products, Updog is a simplified platform built for the general public and developers alike.

According to Datadog, Updog leverages AI to detect subtle telemetry patterns, potentially identifying service disruptions faster than official provider status pages. The company noted that Updog.ai detected an Amazon DynamoDB issue over 30 minutes before AWS updated its own status page.

The lighthearted branding has drawn attention online, following a viral post joking about the lack of an “Updog” product. Now, Datadog has embraced humor while offering a genuinely useful tool for developers who rely on cloud-based services.
