Kohler has introduced a new device called the Dekoda, a $599 camera that attaches to a toilet bowl to capture and analyze waste for health insights.

According to CNET, the Dekoda provides updates on gut health, hydration, and can even detect traces of blood. The gadget features a rechargeable battery, USB connection, and a fingerprint sensor to identify different users.

The Dekoda is now available for pre-order, with shipping starting October 21. Customers will also need a subscription plan ranging from $70 to $156 per year.

To ease privacy concerns, Kohler assures that “Dekoda’s sensors see down into your toilet and nowhere else,” adding that all data is secured through end-to-end encryption.
