AI coding startup Warp unveiled Warp Code today, a new feature set designed to give developers clearer oversight of command-line coding agents.
The update introduces step-by-step diff tracking, in-line commenting, and the ability to edit code or highlight lines for context while the agent works. Warp’s compiler also auto-troubleshoots errors as they appear.
“It’s about making sure you understand the code the agent is producing,” said founder Zach Lloyd, framing the features as a more transparent, “pair programming” style of AI coding.
Warp Code puts the startup in competition with AI editors like Cursor and Windsurf, as well as model-driven tools like Claude Code and Codex.
