Airbnb is piloting a new “kitchen stocking” service in partnership with Instacart, allowing guests to order groceries directly through the Airbnb app before or during their stay. The feature, first reported by Bloomberg, aims to make travel more convenient by letting guests arrive in fully stocked kitchens.

According to Airbnb, the pilot will launch in January across select U.S. markets, Phoenix, Orlando, and Los Angeles, as part of its growing “Airbnb Services” offering. Guests can place orders up to three weeks before their stay, and hosts who handle and store guests’ grocery orders before check-in will earn $25 per completed order, plus a $100 bonus for their first.

An Instacart spokesperson said the collaboration brings its “broad retailer network and leading technology” to Airbnb, helping travelers “feel at home from day one.”

This grocery delivery pilot expands Airbnb’s Services platform, launched in May, which lets guests book extras like massages, haircuts, or chef-prepared meals. CEO Brian Chesky has said these offerings could add more than $1 billion in annual revenue for the company.

Instacart has yet to comment further on future expansion plans for the partnership.
