ZTE Corporation and MTN Uganda have celebrated the 10th anniversary of their Managed Services partnership, a collaboration that has revolutionized Uganda’s telecommunications network over the past decade. The event, held in Kampala, brought together senior leaders from both organizations, including MTN Uganda’s Thomas Motlepa (CTIO), Sylvia ElSheikh (CMO), Franklin Kano Ocharo (GM of New Business), and Philip Wamimbi (Senior Manager – Network Operations), alongside ZTE Uganda’s CEO Wang Lou and DCEO Yuan Yuzhan.

Over the years, the partnership has strengthened Uganda’s telecom infrastructure, expanding network coverage and improving performance nationwide. MTN Uganda’s continued dominance in Net Promoter Scores (NPS) within the MTN Group reflects the quality and reliability achieved through this collaboration.

A defining milestone in the partnership was the launch of Uganda’s first Service Operations Center (SOC) by ZTE for MTN Uganda. The SOC uses advanced analytics and automation to manage networks intelligently, ensuring proactive maintenance, real-time problem detection, and uninterrupted service delivery. This technological leap underscores both companies’ commitment to innovation and operational excellence.

During the celebration, leaders from both sides commended the teams behind the success, recognizing their dedication and teamwork over the decade. Beyond reflection, the event also looked toward the future, with ZTE reaffirming its commitment to advancing the partnership through AI-powered solutions that enhance customer experience, broadband intelligence, and autonomous network operations.
