Plaud.ai has unveiled its latest hardware notetaker, the Plaud Note Pro, a $179 device designed for calls, meetings, and on-the-go transcription. The launch comes two years after the company introduced the original Plaud Note and a year after releasing its AI Pin.
For those unfamiliar, Plaud’s notetakers are credit-card-sized devices that attach to the back of a phone and record conversations. The new Note Pro keeps the same compact look but adds a key upgrade: a 0.95-inch AMOLED display showing recording status, battery life, and other indicators.
The Note Pro also doubles the microphone setup from two to four MEMS mics, improving noise suppression, speaker detection, and overall audio quality. With this, the device can capture voices up to 16.4 feet (5 meters) away, twice the range of its predecessor. Users can record for up to 30 hours on a single charge, or extend to 50 hours at a reduced 9.8-foot range.

Another major improvement is auto-detection: while the original Note required users to switch modes between calls and in-person meetings, the Pro can now detect this automatically.
Alongside the hardware, Plaud is rolling out a major update to its companion app. The app now lets users take written notes, attach images like presentation slides, and generate “multidimensional summaries” customizable outputs such as key insights or data points. The system can even suggest templates based on a user’s role, with the option to build custom ones.
The Plaud Note Pro is available for preorder today at $179 / £169, with shipping slated for October 2025. Preorders include 600 free transcription minutes and a magnetic case. Buyers will also get 300 free transcription minutes each month, with paid plans and top-ups available for heavier use.
Plaud has managed to stay strong in the AI hardware space, even as competitors have struggled. Exor-backed Bee was acquired by Amazon, while Friend only recently started shipping after delays. By contrast, Plaud says it has shipped over one million devices, with nearly half of its customers upgrading to the Pro plan.
