Depop is adding a creative twist to social shopping with the launch of its new styling and collaging feature, “Outfits.” The fashion resale app announced the update on Wednesday, highlighting how the tool enables users to design curated, moodboard-style fashion collages directly within the app.
With Outfits, users can select an item to style and access the tool by clicking the scissors icon. From there, they can experiment with customization options such as colorful backgrounds, image resizing, and placement adjustments. To make the process easier, Depop also provides templates that serve as layout guides.
Every item featured in a collage is fully shoppable. If a specific product sells out, Depop automatically suggests similar alternatives, ensuring a seamless shopping experience. For sellers, the new feature is a way to spotlight available inventory in a more visually engaging format, inspiring buyers to see how pieces can be styled together.
The feature extends beyond Depop’s platform as well, with users able to export and share static images of their styled outfits on social channels like Pinterest and Instagram. This cross-platform sharing strategy taps into Gen Z’s growing love of digital collages, a trend also recognized by Pinterest, which rolled out its own collage-making app, Shuffles, in 2022.
Depop confirmed that Outfits is now available to all users globally within its app.
The rollout follows strong financial momentum for Depop’s parent company, Etsy. In Q2 2025, Depop reported a 34.7% year-over-year increase in Gross Merchandise Sales (GMS) on a currency-neutral basis, positioning the resale platform toward a $1 billion GMS run rate. By comparison, rival marketplace Mercari reported a Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of $728 million in Q4 2024.
