Reddit has expanded its AI-powered search to five additional languages, across countries like Brazil, France, Germany, Spain, Mexico, and Italy.
With this update, users who set these languages as their default can now chat with Reddit’s AI in a question-and-answer format, powered by a Google AI model.
Originally launched last year, Reddit’s AI search lives under Reddit Answers, which complements the platform’s traditional search tools.
According to CEO Steve Huffman, Reddit search now serves over 70 million weekly users, while Reddit Answers engages more than 6 million people. Huffman also noted plans to unify the overall search experience during a recent earnings call.

The move comes as chat-based search continues to grow in popularity, with ChatGPT, Google, Brave, and Perplexity leading the charge in reshaping how users find information online.
