Google on Thursday launched a comprehensive AI platform for businesses called Gemini Enterprise, marking its latest effort to compete with Anthropic and OpenAI in the rapidly expanding workplace AI market.

The new platform has already attracted several high-profile customers, including Figma, Klarna, Gordon Foods, Macquarie Bank, and Virgin Voyages, which has deployed over 50 specialized AI agents powered by Gemini Enterprise.

Unlike previous iterations of Google’s business AI tools, Gemini Enterprise is not a Workspace add-on. Instead, it operates as a standalone, secure AI platform under Google Cloud, designed to serve as what Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian calls “the new front door for AI in the workplace.”

Gemini Enterprise enables companies to create, share, and manage AI agents for tasks across departments like sales, marketing, engineering, human resources, and finance. These agents can access and combine data from internal systems and Google tools such as Code Assist and Deep Research within a unified workflow.

Employees can interact with the platform via a Gemini Enterprise chatbot, which connects to business data from Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and SAP. Google is also offering a suite of pre-built AI agents for research and analytics, along with a no-code automation toolkit and a governance framework for managing AI security and oversight.

The platform comes with two main pricing tiers, a standard and a plus edition, starting at $30 per user per month. A smaller Gemini Business plan, aimed at startups and small teams, costs $21 per user per month and includes a 30-day free trial.

With Gemini Enterprise, Google aims to strengthen its position in the enterprise AI space, where rivals like OpenAI and Anthropic have already gained traction. OpenAI claims over 5 million ChatGPT Enterprise users, while consulting giant Deloitte recently announced plans to roll out Anthropic’s Claude chatbot to its 500,000 employees.
