At its fall hardware event on Tuesday, Amazon introduced new AI-powered features for its latest Ring cameras and doorbells, including visitor face recognition, pet-finding tools, and a smart doorbell assistant powered by Alexa+.

The most notable feature is “Familiar Faces,” which uses AI to recognize friends and family once their faces are enrolled. Ring will then alert users when a known visitor arrives and flag unfamiliar faces for quick decision-making. Amazon says this helps cut down on unnecessary notifications from routine activities.

The company is also rolling out “Search Party,” an AI-powered system to help track lost pets. When a user registers a lost dog, nearby Ring users will receive a description and can voluntarily report sightings. AI will then match possible appearances. Support for cats and other pets is planned for the future.

Ring’s AI upgrades extend to Alexa+ Greetings, turning the assistant into a smart doorbell attendant that can interact with visitors, handle deliveries, and provide context when specific faces are recognized.

New 4K Ring Hardware

Amazon also introduced Ring’s first 4K product line with its new “Retinal Vision” imaging technology, designed to improve clarity and optimize video quality automatically.

  • Retinal 2K devices: Indoor Cam Plus ($59.99), Wired Doorbell Plus ($179.99)
  • Retinal 4K devices: Wired Doorbell Pro ($249.99), Outdoor Cam Pro ($199.99), Spotlight Cam Pro ($249.99), Floodlight Cam Pro ($279.99), and Wired Doorbell Elite ($499.99)

All devices are available for preorder starting today.

Rollout Timeline

  • Familiar Faces and Alexa+ Greetings: December 2025
  • Search Party (dogs first): November 2025

Amazon also announced a new Blink lineup, including the Blink Arc ($99.99), a device that combines two Blink Mini 2K+ cameras into one for a 180-degree panoramic view.

With these updates, Amazon is positioning Ring not only as a smarter security tool but also as a neighborhood-connected platform for both safety and convenience.
