Google announced on Tuesday that it is expanding its AI Mode search feature to Spanish-speaking users, broadening access to its conversational, AI-powered search experience. With this update, users can ask natural language questions, engage in back-and-forth conversations, upload images, and explore complex topics more deeply.
The move follows Google’s August expansion of AI Mode to 180 additional countries, after its initial rollout in the U.S., U.K., and India. During that expansion, the company also gave Google AI Ultra subscribers new capabilities, such as booking restaurant reservations directly in AI Mode. Future updates are expected to support appointment scheduling and event ticket purchases.
Google is accelerating its AI adoption across services with a steady stream of product rollouts. Alongside Tuesday’s announcement, the company revealed that conversational photo editing is now available to all Android users in the U.S. and that its lower-cost Google AI Plus subscription, first tested in Indonesia, has expanded to 40 more countries. This comes as OpenAI pushes its mid-tier ChatGPT Go plan, which launched in India in August and in Indonesia earlier this week.

The ChatGPT Go plan offers 10 times higher usage limits than OpenAI’s free tier, supports image generation and file uploads, and enables the chatbot to better remember prior conversations for more personalized responses. It is positioned between the free version and the $20-per-month ChatGPT Plus subscription.
Earlier this month, Google also introduced AI Mode support for Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese, further strengthening its multilingual reach.
However, with Google’s rapid AI integration, some users may find it challenging to differentiate between features like AI Mode and AI Overviews. AI Mode provides an immersive conversational interface powered by Gemini AI, while AI Overviews deliver quick AI-generated summaries directly at the top of traditional search results.
