Meta announced on Thursday that Vibes, its short-form video feed made entirely of AI-generated content, is now launching in Europe through the Meta AI app. The feature first rolled out in the U.S. six weeks ago, marking Meta’s push into AI-powered social experiences.
Vibes functions similarly to TikTok or Instagram Reels, but every video is created using AI prompts or remixes of existing clips. Users can generate videos, customize visuals, layer in music, and share directly to the Vibes feed, Instagram Stories, or Facebook Reels.

“This is an inherently social and collaborative creation experience, where you’re encouraged to remix, co-create, and build stories together with friends,” Meta wrote in a blog post. The feed will also personalize recommendations over time based on user interests.
Despite Meta’s excitement, the reception has been mixed. When CEO Mark Zuckerberg first revealed Vibes in September, many users dismissed it as unnecessary, criticizing the rise of “AI slop”, a term for low-quality AI-generated content.
The launch also contrasts with Meta’s earlier stance, where it urged creators to focus on authentic storytelling rather than unoriginal, repetitive videos. Still, the company reports that media generation within the Meta AI app has increased tenfold since Vibes’ introduction, signaling growing engagement with AI-driven creativity.
