Oura has announced a major app redesign and a new Cumulative Stress feature to help users better understand their long-term health trends. The company also revealed that it’s seeking FDA clearance for upcoming blood pressure monitoring capabilities.
The redesigned Oura app offers more personalization through three tabs: Today, which displays key daily insights; Vitals, providing overviews of sleep, stress, and cardiovascular trends; and My Health, which highlights long-term well-being and includes new “Habits” and “Routines” tracking sections. Menstrual tracking has also been expanded with a new 12-month view for period and fertility insights.
The new Cumulative Stress feature measures how the body accumulates and responds to chronic stress based on factors like sleep continuity, temperature regulation, heart stress-response, and micro-movements during sleep. It analyzes data from the past month and updates weekly.
“It’s much more than just tallying the hours spent in stressful periods,” said Jason Russell, Oura’s VP of Consumer Software Product. “It’s actually measuring bodily functions indicative of cumulative stress taking a toll on your body.”

Oura is also preparing to roll out its Blood Pressure Profile study in the U.S. through its experimental hub, Oura Labs. The study aims to detect early signs of hypertension using passive Oura Ring data and lifestyle questionnaires. Participants will receive assessments indicating their likelihood of hypertension and recommendations for medical follow-up if needed.
The announcement follows Oura’s recent $900 million funding round led by Fidelity and the launch of new products like the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic collection and an integrated Health Panels feature that enables users to schedule blood work directly in the app.
