Salesforce is deepening its push into national security with the launch of Missionforce, a dedicated business unit focused on embedding AI into defense workflows.

The new division will target three core areas: personnel, logistics, and decision-making, according to the company. Missionforce is led by Kendall Collins, CEO of Government Cloud and a longtime Salesforce executive.

“With Missionforce, we’ll now bring the best of AI, cloud, and platform technology from the private sector to modernize critical areas including personnel, logistics, and analytics,” Collins said. “The goal is simple: to help our warfighters and the organizations that support them operate smarter, faster, and more efficiently.”

Salesforce has a long history of working with U.S. government agencies, including contracts with the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The company does not disclose revenue from federal contracts.

The launch comes as major AI firms court Washington. OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google have all recently unveiled government-specific AI services, offering heavily discounted access to their platforms.
