Rewritten News:
Elon Musk’s companies X and xAI filed a lawsuit against Apple and OpenAI on Monday, accusing the two tech giants of colluding to suppress competition in the artificial intelligence industry.

The suit alleges Apple is leveraging its dominance in smartphones by partnering with OpenAI, which it describes as “a monopolist in the market for generative AI chatbots.” According to the filing, Apple’s integration of ChatGPT into its systems is designed to limit rival AI platforms and secure market control.

This legal battle adds to Musk’s ongoing feud with OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman. Musk, once a co-founder and co-chair of OpenAI, has repeatedly criticized the company for shifting from its nonprofit roots to a for-profit structure. Earlier this year, he filed another lawsuit seeking to block that transition and even made an unsolicited $97.4 billion takeover offer, which OpenAI rejected.

Musk has also used his social platform X to accuse Apple and OpenAI of anticompetitive practices, claiming earlier this month that it is “impossible for any AI company besides OpenAI to reach #1 in the App Store.”

Apple and Open AI announced their partnership in June, with new ChatGPT-powered features expected to launch on Apple devices in December.
