Amazon’s primary care provider, One Medical, is expanding into children’s healthcare with a new pay-per-visit virtual service for kids aged 2 to 11.

The service, announced Thursday, offers message-based visits for $29 and video visits for $49, without requiring insurance or a One Medical membership. Parents can use it for common issues like pink eye, lice, eczema, rashes, asthma medication renewals, and more.

“This service isn’t meant to replace a family’s relationship with their child’s pediatrician, but rather to serve as a convenient option for those ‘in-between’ moments,” said Dr. Natasha Bhuyan, family physician and national medical director for Amazon One Medical.

The move comes as competitors like CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart scale back their retail health services. It also follows Amazon’s rollout of prescription vending machines at One Medical clinics in Los Angeles last week, offering quick access to common medications.

Amazon has steadily expanded its healthcare footprint over the years, acquiring PillPack in 2018, launching Amazon Pharmacy in 2020, and purchasing One Medical in 2022 for $3.9 billion. The company’s latest step further positions it as a major player in digital health and telemedicine.
