OpenAI is expanding its affordable ChatGPT Go plan beyond India, bringing the subscription to Indonesia. The company announced that the mid-tier plan will be priced at Rp75,000 ($4.50) per month, making it significantly cheaper than the $20 ChatGPT Plus plan.

The ChatGPT Go subscription offers 10 times higher usage limits than the free version, covering text prompts, image generation, and file uploads. It also improves ChatGPT’s ability to remember past conversations, delivering more personalized responses over time, according to ChatGPT head Nick Turley.

Since launching ChatGPT Go in India last month, OpenAI has seen its number of paid subscribers more than double, Turley revealed on X.

The move also sets up direct competition with Google, which recently launched its own AI Plus plan in Indonesia at a similar price point. Google’s package gives access to its Gemini 2.5 Pro chatbot, along with creative tools like Flow, Whisk, and Veo 3 Fast. It also integrates AI features into Gmail, Docs, and Sheets while offering 200GB of cloud storage.
