Google announced a major update to its Search and Discover pages, introducing new AI-driven features and user-friendly navigation improvements. Among the most notable changes is a new control that allows users to collapse sponsored results on Search.

With the new feature, users can now tap a “Hide sponsored results” button to remove ads from their view. However, Google clarified that ads aren’t disappearing completely, a “Sponsored Results” label will still remain visible as users scroll, and ad groups will still appear both above and below AI Overviews.

Google says this new layout maintains the same ad quantity, no more than four text ads per group, while improving overall page navigation. Ads will also carry updated labels like “Sponsored Products” for Shopping results.

Beyond ad controls, Google is enhancing user engagement with new AI-powered experiences:

These features are rolling out now to users in the U.S., South Korea, and India, with broader global availability expected soon.
