Google’s Gemini AI assistant is heading to the big screen. On Monday, the company announced the rollout of Gemini for Google TV, bringing conversational AI to more than 300 million active Google TV and Android TV OS devices.
The new integration allows TV owners to have natural, free-flowing conversations with Gemini, extending beyond basic commands to personalized assistance. For entertainment, Gemini can help households agree on what to watch, catch viewers up on missed seasons, recommend shows based on vague memory prompts, or pull up reviews to help decide if a title is worth watching.
But Gemini won’t be limited to TV queries. Just like on smartphones, users can ask about anything, from homework help for kids, to vacation planning for families, to skill-building guidance for individuals.
Importantly, Google clarified that the traditional Google Assistant commands will continue to work alongside Gemini.
